I am camera shy.
Come within 15 feet of me with a camera and I will probably drop-kick you or otherwise incapacitate most of your limbs.
It's not you, its me.
Some of us just aren't meant to be captured on film.
These pops have that problem. They're not super photogenic but they are so pretty in real life, so don't judge them too harshly.
You're not tired of pops yet, are you?
Banana Split Popsicles
Banana layer adapted from Food Network's "Creamy Banana Pops"
Banana Layer:
-1 cup milk
-3 Tbsp sugar, heaping
-1 medium ripe banana (it should have black spots!)
-1/4 cup heavy cream
Heat milk in the microwave and stir in the sugar until dissolved. Put banana, milk/sugar mixture, and heavy cream in a blender and blend until smooth. You can add a drop or two of yellow food coloring if desired.
Fill popsicle molds 2/3 of the way with this mixture. Insert sticks and freeze until somewhat set.
------------------
"Split" Toppings:-Maraschino cherries, cut in half
-Hot Fudge (You can use Mrs. Richardson's if you don't want to make your own.)
Wedge 2-3 cherry halves into each frozen pop on top of the banana layer. Proceed to make the vanilla layer before adding hot fudge.
Vanilla Layer:
-1/4 c milk
-2 Tbsp sugar
-1/2 c cream
-1/2 tsp vanilla
Heat milk, stir in sugar until dissolved. Add cream and vanilla. Pour this mixture over each frozen pop/cherries to cover.
Drop spoonfuls of hot fudge on top of vanilla mixture to make a swirled pattern.
Freeze pops 4 hours or overnight. To remove pops from mold, run them under hot water for about 20 seconds to loosen.
