Whatchamacallits

Because every now and then you have a peanut butter craving that must be satisfied-

These bars are crispy, rich, and peanut buttery.  The corn syrup makes them a little bit chewy so they have the perfect texture.

And the name?  It's just plain fun to say.

Whatchamacallit's
Recipe from Angela Blanchard

-3 cups peanut butter
-1 1/2 cups corn syrup
-3/4 cup brown sugar
-3 Tbsp butter
-1 1/2 tsp vanilla
-7 cups Rice Krispies
-2 bags chocolate chips (I used 3 cups Guittard milk chocolate, and 1 cup semisweet)

Mix peanut butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, and butter in a  large pan over low heat until melted smooth.  Remove from heat and add vanilla.  Add Rice Krispies and combine well.  Spread mixture into a 9x13 pan, lined with foil and greased, and put in the fridge to cool.

Melt chocolate chips in the microwave at 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted smooth.  Do not overheat!  Spread melted chocolate over bars in the pan and move back to the fridge to set.

When ready to cut, remove bars from pan using foil.   Peel down the sides of the foil before cutting.

*Note- This recipe can be halved; just press mixture into a smaller pan.
