Candy Corn Bark

I've been such a bad blogger lately.  I blinked my eyes and it went from September to October 19th.  Seriously.

I had plans to celebrate reaching my half-a-million views milestone.

Yeah, pretty much missed that days ago.

Can we pretend I made this bark in honor of that?

Thanks to all of you who read along, try my recipes, and leave me comments, emails, and facebook messages to keep me going.  Blogging seriously wouldn't be any fun without you.

*********************************

This bark has a nice sprinkle of all candy corn flavored treats, and it's pretty darn good.  I also think it would be super cute if you layered orange, yellow, and white candy melts instead of milk/dark chocolate.

Candy Corn Bark
-12 oz milk chocolate, chopped*
-12 oz dark chocolate, chopped*
-Candy Corn flavored Oreos
-Candy Corn flavored M&Ms
-Candy Corn
-Candy Corn colored sprinkles

Melt milk chocolate in the microwave at 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds until just melted.  Spread evenly over a piece of parchment paper to half of desired-thickness. Move to the freezer to set, about 10 minutes.

Melt dark chocolate in the microwave at 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds until just melted.  Spread evenly over milk chocolate layer on parchment.

Immediately sprinkle bark with Oreo quarters, M&Ms, candy corn, and sprinkles.  Allow to cool completely at room temperature before cutting into triangles with a large sharp knife.

*You can use candy melts or fondue chocolate instead of real chocolate if you want, but it won't taste as good.  High quality chocolate bars with a good snap work the best (Lindt) but this can get expensive.  If you have a Trader Joe's, their chocolate is an economical choice.  You can even use high quality chocolate chips (Guittard) but your bark will be somewhat soft at room temperature and may need to be stored in the fridge.
