Chocolate-dipped Butterfinger Oreos

My husband and I are slightly obsessed with Disneyland.  We're one of those families that will go every single year if we can. We last went about a year ago and promised ourselves we'd wait until our littlest guy was 40 inches to go again.  Well, he's 35 inches, a little runt for his age, and I'm really not sure we can wait that long.  Do they sell child-sized stilts?

These Oreos are an attempt to bring a little Disneyland magic into our home even though they have nothing to do with Disney except they look like they belong there because everything at Disney is freaking delicious.

You caught me.

I really only go for the food.

Also I found out today that the Arby's symbol is NOT an ice cream cone with a bite taken out of it.  It is in fact a cowboy hat.

WHAT!!

Since my entire world has just been shattered I pretty much feel justified in eating lots of these.  Seeing ice cream cones instead of hats probably says all kinds of deep psychological things about me that I don't want to know.

Have a happy weekend friends!

Chocolate-dipped Butterfinger Oreo's

-2 Milk chocolate bars, chopped  (Lindt 3.5 oz is great.  You can sub high quality milk chocolate chips if you want but be careful not to overheat or your chocolate won't set.)
-Oreo's
-Butterfinger bar, crushed, in medium bowl
-Milk or white chocolate chips for drizzle (optional)
-A 2-prong chocolate dipping fork (available at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.  A regular fork will also work but be a bit messier.)

Place chopped chocolate or chocolate chips in a small bowl.  Microwave at 50% power for 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth.  (Do not overheat!)  If using chocolate chips, you may have to add a tsp or two or vegetable oil to get it to dipping consistency.  (Careful- too much will keep it from setting.)

Place one Oreo in the chocolate mixture, turn over with dipping fork until completely coated.  Scoop up using dipping fork.  Hold the fork above the bowl and tap it gently against the bowl rim, allowing excess chocolate to drip off back into the bowl.

Continue to hold Oreo on the dipping fork and move over to Butterfinger bowl. Use a spoon to spoon  crushed Butterfinger on top of dipped Oreo, tilting to get sides covered completely.

Slip Oreo off dipping fork and onto a parchment-lined tray or cookie sheet to set.   Repeat dipping process for each Oreo until you run out of chocolate.

When set*, drizzle with melted chocolate/white chocolate if desired.  Store in airtight container.

*If you are impatient to get them to set just pop them in the fridge for awhile.

Yes you should go to Disneyland every year, but only if you make sure to stop at my house on the way! And everything on your blog looks delish. If I had the energy to make it I would!
