Chocolate-Dipped Peeps

Yes, I know everyone and their mom posted chocolate-dipped peeps about 2 months ago but with this blog's namesake,  I really have no choice but to put up my version sometime.  

Whenever someone refers to their friends as "peeps" I picture these in my head and wonder if they like to take bites out of their friends.

Chocolate-Dipped Peeps

Recipe based on peep bouquet by Your HomeBased Mom

-White or brown candy melts (you can use a chopped chocolate bar if you prefer)

-Peeps

-Sprinkles or jimmies.

Put your candy melts in a cup or small bowl and microwave at 50% power for 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth.

Using clean hands, dip each peep directly down into the chocolate, covering the bottom of the peep well.  Allow excess chocolate to drip off slightly.

Immediately place into a bowl or plate full of jimmies and rotate gently to coat.

Place on a piece of waxed paper to cool completely.  (Candy melts will harden quickly, regular chocolate may take several hours.)
